November 2018 Artist of the Month

This month’s artist is:

Caroline Fay

Caroline Fay is an Irish painter, recently moved from London to Upstate NY.  Using Dutch masters as muse, her realize paintings have a modern twist, dealing with issues including the relation between man and nature and contemporary environmental concerns.  In her work, symbolism and metaphor help point a spotlight on the importance of preservation and conservation of the natural works.  In 2016, Caroline was chosen to exhibit in the London Irish Art Exhibition in London’s impressive Central Hall, Westminster Abby, which celebrated some of Ireland’s great artists.

“Painting in a realist style forces me to be thoughtful and paint.  It allows me to capture the natural beauty of the subjects I paint and helps me understand, appreciate and believe in the importance of what I’m doing.”

In January 2018. Caroline opened the Big Little Art Studio in Walton, NY.  A creative space for all ages and abilities to learn new skills, play, experiment, socialize and enjoy all areas of art.  Caroline hosts a broad range of arts & crafts classes for adults and children including private lessons.  Her goal is to build an art-loving community that helps motivate each otters and develop our innate creative abilities.
