This month’s artist is:

Carol Chesser

Carol Chesser has lived in Oneonta since 1969.  She is married to Doug Chesser and has a grown daughter and son.  She managed the Love of Pete Hallmark card and gift store for 10 years in Oneonta.  She has owned and operated Century 21 Chesser Realty for the past 30 years, recently selling 3 locations in Oneonta, Delhi and Andes to her daughter, Ginger Volpe.  She remains in the listing and selling part of the business.  She and her husband spend the winters in their home in Punta Gorda, Florida.  There is where Carol started working with watercolors, but developed a love for painting with alcohol inks on yupo paper.  Alcohol ink is a permanent ink that flows on non-porous surfaces giving such wonderful movement and unique vibrant colors creating designs, images and abstracts.  Most paintings are created without brushes or pre-planned sketches.  No two paintings are ever the same and each one tells their own story.  Alcohol Inks are very vibrant in color. They are difficult to control, in that there is a chemical reaction when one color meets another. Once used mainly for card making, now alcohol inks are used for creating fine art similar to the look of watercolor.  Impossible to duplicate the end results, each work is unique. Truly one of a kind!
